Frequently Asked Questions
What is urgent care?
It is like the "fast-track" at the emergency room.
How long will I have to wait?
We try to minimize your wait time and hope to have you in, seen by the doctor and treated in one hour. Sometimes, there can be a longer wait if there are several people coming in at the same time. We have 7 exam rooms and hope to be able to handle a crowd as quickly as possible.
What happens after I leave urgent care?
The doctor will explain your diagnosis and treatment. You will be given specific discharge instructions and a sheet with a general explanation of your diagnosis. The doctor will also give you specific instructions on whom to follow up with and with in what time frame.
When should I go to the emergency room?
If you are experiencing intolerable pain, chest pain, sever shortness of breath, loss of limb, massive blood loss it is better to go to the emergency room. If you feel that you will need hospitalization it is recommended to go to the emergency room.
Our doctors may sometimes evaluate you and feel that it is necessary for you to go to the emergency room, in which case we will call an ambulance and the recieving hospital.
I have a hangover or I feel dehydrated, should I still see the doctor?
Yes! Come on in, we will be happy to rehydrate you with iv (intravenous) fluids. You will be in a safe place with trained professionals that follow strict JCO (Joint Commision for Hospitals) protocols.
